the past, most importantly her husband and gifted musical partner,
Dan Lodge-Rigal, whose keyboard work and guitars are tremendous
here. Co-produced with David Weber, this recording again demonstrates
the phenomenal talents of Mr. Weber, whose studio
is home to many of the best performers in the region.
Beth and her husband Dan have made their home
in Bloomington, Indiana; they have two daughters, Harper and
Susannah, and two dogs, Tucker and Opie. In addition to her
work as a performing songwriter, Beth lends her talents to a
myriad of human service, arts, education and environmental initiatives
in her region. She has worked with people of all ages in a variety
of settings for over 20 years as a musician, a human service
provider, an educator, a community volunteer and a mother. She
sings back-ups whenever possible, and has taught songwriting
workshops to people of all ages for over ten years; she is a
licensed facilitator of Women
Writing for (a) Change classes and workshops. She models
and encourages the telling of true stories and the development
of "authentic voice."
Beth wrote in the liner notes of her first
album, "It’s possible to believe that as
you get older, start settling into your choices, life becomes
more and more ordinary and less and less inspiring. Call me
crazy, but I believe grace and beauty live in the ordinariness
of our lives. If you look there you will find something to write
about." She has proven this over and over through
the telling of honest, poignant, simple, profound, and moving
stories in her songs. And such stories are great companions
on this ride we call life.l |
