Women
Writing for (a) Change is a creative writing
class which supports the lives of women for whom writing
is, or is becoming, an important creative and spiritual
practice. This class is designed to provide a safe and
supportive space for women who want to explore their writing
voice. Women are encouraged to tell their stories in whatever
written form they wish to pursue, whether it is fiction,
poetry, journal, essay, or drama.
Women Writing for (a) Change is for :
• New and experienced writers seeking a community
in which to
discover and deepen their writing voices.
• Women in need of new sources of creative inspiration
in their
lives and their work.
• Women in transition.
• Those wishing to explore writing as a spiritual
or healing practice,
or as a tool of social change.
Beth Lodge-Rigal
is a licensed facilitator of Women Writing for
(a) Change and a graduate of the Feminist
Leadership Academy of WWF(a)C in Cincinnati, Ohio;
she has developed an affiliate location in Bloomington,
Indiana. This work springs from the very conscious approach
developed by the school's founder, poet Mary Pierce Brosmer,
to "bring women to voice". See the WWf(a)C
website for more information, inspiration on how a
writing community can be nurtured and flourish.
